I was born in Marquette, Michigan.  Shortly after, my family relocated to Cadillac, Michigan, where I grew up. I took my first photography class in 11th grade and have been involved with it ever since.

After graduating from high school in 2002, I spent two years attending Northwestern Michigan College part-time while working and, in my spare time, photographing friends' weddings.  In 2005, I got a job as a cashier and an assistant wedding photographer for a local photography studio. There, I gained experience in senior portraits, wedding photography, sports photography and event photography.  In 2006 I was accepted to Central Michigan University as a transfer student, and I moved to Mount Pleasant in February of 2007.

I expect to complete my bachelor's degree in fine art with a minor in communication by 2010.
